Cinderella Trophy Competition Nominations have been agreed

The results are in! After twenty-two pantomimes, starting in November 2024 and ending just two weeks ago, the performances have been assessed and the decisions made. The adjudicating team for the Cinderella trophy Competition met on Saturday to agree the names of all the nominees and winners for this season’s competition. In a marathon session, they assessed every aspect of the shows and agreed who deserved special recognition. They all agreed there were some spectacular performances this year and deciding the winners in every category wasn’t always easy.
As ever with this competition, which is designed specifically for pantomime, the nominations are kept a closely-guarded secret and won’t be revealed until the awards evening. Part of the excitement of the evening is the frisson that comes from not knowing who has made the list. And, as ever, the evening will culminate with the announcements of the overall winners of the Spotlight Shield (for villages) and the Cinderella Trophy itself.
The Awards ceremony this year will once again be at The Batch, a venue that proved really popular when we held our 50th anniversary evening there last year. The invitations to the groups have been sent out and the ticket requests are rolling in. So, if you are responsible for ordering the tickets for your society, don’t leave it too late. Space is limited and you don’t want to lose out! The date is Friday 16 May and the bar will be open from 6.00pm with the ceremony starting at 7.30pm. It is always a great evening and there will be something a little bit magic happening this year.
So all that remains now is for the certificates to be signed, the trophies to be polished and the taxis to be ordered!
