Timsbury Theatre Group presents ‘Frosted’

On a wet and chilly night I head over the Mendips to the outskirts of Bath where Timsbury Theatre Group are presenting ‘Frosted’. I certainly didn’t receive a frosty reception on my arrival though!

What a great choice of script. Written by Warren McWilliams by arrangement with Stagescripts Ltd and directed by Jon and Jo Hicks this was very funny, very topical and very seasonal all rolled into one.

It is evident you have a dedicated society and it is clear everyone did exactly what the directors had asked of them. Each principal played their part extremely well and your team of ‘fabulous juniors’ lit up the stage with beaming faces, beautiful singing voices and some lovely dance routines.

There were some classic comedy moments too. I loved the TV camera crew surrounding Prince Anders, the watering tree and the arrival of Frosty through the auditorium.

Flatulent gags were aplenty. Maybe your props department could have supplied a champagne cork!

I have to say you certainly pulled all the stops out on this production. All sets were society made and looked absolutely striking under the lighting. A huge congratulations to Lisa, Andy and Theresa.

Costumes were most eye catching and modelled well and all make-up applied correctly. I was particularly taken with Dame Florrie’s platforms. Were these Rod Stewart’s hand me downs?

All scene changes were swiftly undertaken and lighting added much appeal to the show. Well done Jude. Although sound was a tad temperamental on occasions, it certainly never spoilt our enjoyment.

I would never be forgiven if I failed to mention the talents of Neil Moon. You created Frosty and brought him to life in your own unique way. This was an outstanding performance played with distinction. I take my ‘top hat’ off to you!

This was a memorable pantomime that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. I congratulate you all (including Rachel in accounts!) on a shivering spectacle.
