The Trull Players Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

On a dark and dismal night I head off to The Trull Players.

They are performing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ written by Vicky Orman and directed by Sam Allen.

A warm welcome awaits me as I enter a packed hall with festive music softly playing in the background and the aroma of freshly heated mince pies.

Snow White was extremely popular in our competition last season and I can now understand why.

This is a nostalgic story that both adults and children love and are familiar with. There was certainly no stone left unturned in this production.

Casting was ‘spot on’ and what remarkable talent this society has. The cue bite was excellent throughout and each character played their part convincingly. Trull are fortunate to have so much young talent too. The excellent Dwarfs’ alongside the junior chorus demonstrated that the future is certainly bright for this society.

A beautiful portrayal of Snow White alongside Prince Darion made the romance in this pantomime believable.

Jokes and laughter were in full supply from the energetic linkman Ollie and Scruff the dog. By contrast, the evil Queen Malicia and her gangsters Rivet and Trivet made certain their audience was not there to be entertained nor enjoy themselves.

Singing was to a high standard and there was a variety of musical numbers ensuring there was something for everyone.

An array of colourful costumes lit up the stage and was complimented by subtle scenery that was all society made. Lighting and sound added much appeal to this production.

This pantomime was a sell out and I can now see why numerous locals turned out in all winds and weathers to watch you.

An enjoyable evenings entertainment I most certainly had.

Thank you for inviting me.
