The Phoebe Rees Competition for plays is restarting

Robert Graydon, the Phoebe Rees Moderator, has issued the following statement

"I am really pleased to report that we are now in a position to start hitting the road again and Phoebe Rees will be back in business from the 1st October. This slightly later start than usual will give my team the chance to make sure we are ready and also for me to complete my recovery from long awaited cataract surgery this summer. For this season we will run for 11 months only, concluding on the 31st August; and the awards evening will be about a month later than we are used to in November 2025. For 2025/2026 we will return to the usual pattern of 1st September to 31st August. For now, we are a small but very enthusiastic team. Besides me as Moderator (and Coordinator for the time being) we welcome back Helen Tompson, Niamh McGrogan and Lynn Pearson. Please bear with us while we find our feet again. We are all looking forward to the challenge; however all 4 of us have many other commitments outside of SFD and we will need to enforce the 6 week entry rule rigidly. Over the years we have done our best to accommodate late entries whenever resources allow; we cannot do this anymore. We’ll do our best, but until we can recruit new members to the Team it will be tight. Happily there is some interest going forward and I feel very positive about the future of the competition and will continue to encourage and seek out suitable new adjudicators."
