Our Moderator, Nigel Ford, of the Cinderella Trophy Competition met with Sam, Lee, Jane, Ray and John (his team of adjudicators this season) on Saturday to review
all the pantomimes of the 2023/2024 season and decide on award winners.
The meeting was facilitated by competition coordinator Pam Price and the team spent the entire day painstakingly considering their markings and notes on every pantomime
production. With a total of 24 entries they certainly had their work cut out.
From Minehead to Martock, Timsbury to Taunton and Clevedon to Chardstock, the range of entries came from all over the county. There were new entries too, which the team was really excited about, appreciating their enthusiasm to join us.
And so, after a long day of consideration and discussion and in the fairest way possible, the nominations have been agreed and the 'top' winners decided. Will it be you?
As is traditional for the SFD's pantomime competition, nominations and winners are kept a closely-guarded secret, so you will have to wait until the big night to find out.
This year's award ceremony, which has been a total sell out, will be held at Batch House on Friday 10th May. And with this being the 50th anniversary of the Cinderella Trophy Competition, you can expect something a little bit special.
The nominations and award winners will be published on the Somerset Fellowship of Drama website on Saturday 11th May.
So, who was best Dame of the year? Who boasted the best UV scene? Who was the best dancing troupe? Who had the loveliest romantic duet? and who shone through
in the smallest role for top cameo?
Find out all on the big night and read the results the morning after!
