Roadwater Players Robinson Crusoe

SOMETHING IS VERY FISHY AT ROADWATER

My second pantomime takes me to the quaint village of Roadwater. It is here that their Players are presenting Robinson Crusoe.

Written by Tom Whalley and directed by Nige McBrayne this script included all the traditional panto paraphernalia expected plus much, much more.

From beginning to end the story moved along swiftly with many comical moments. Each character was well defined and provided crystal clear diction. The chorus was well rehearsed and it was obvious much work had gone into preparing for this production. It certainly paid off as there were many highlights for me.

Props were aplenty as was the mess in the kitchen. Plenty of flour and runny eggs is what we look out for and by golly we certainly had them.

I enjoyed the Desert Island Disc routine. This was different and the timings were spot on. A ‘supreme’ performance! Likewise, the Amazon delivery driver was most memorable and word perfect too!

You had a nice balance of music and no one struggled with their choice of song. In fact you have some excellent singing talent within your society.

All costumes were worn well with backdrops and lighting adding appeal to the show.

The audiences of Roadwater and the surrounding areas are fortunate to have a society like yours. You certainly pulled all the stops out on this one.

Thank you for such a fun evening.
